Description
This summer camp sessions will be from 3:00pm until 6:00pm, and is recommended for ages 10 and up, and will include a large lunch prepared during camp each day. Total cost for week of camp is $250 (this $75 deposit plus remaining balance of $175 due by June 1).
A broad range of topics will be taught that include: Kitchen Safety, Basic Kitchen Skills, basic knife skills, menu planning, nutrition, the science of baking, how to understand (and follow) a recipe, and proper dish washing technique.
Camp has a limited number of participants. This non-refundable deposit of $75 will reserve a reserve a space in camp for one child. The balance of $175 per participant for the remaining camp fee and necessary paperwork are due by June 1st. Campers will receive an apron, recipe packet, and certificate of completion, that they will take home at the end of their week.
Participants must be 10 years or older and will be expected to conduct themselves appropriately during participation. In addition to fun with food we will discuss health and nutrition. Please be aware that children who attend this program will be expected to taste at least one small bite of all we prepare- unless they have a food allergy. Menu is subject to change but will probably be:
Monday Menu- Crepes- everyone will make their own and can fill them with ham, egg, cheese or veggies, We will also make a fresh green salad and make a special, crepe, dessert
Tuesday Menu- Pizza! From scratch we’ll make our own crust and toppings, then everyone can make a personal pizza.
Wednesday Menu- Dim Sum- These delicious dishes from Asia will include: Char Siu Bao (or steamed pork buns), Potstickers, and Lettuce wraps- with jasmine tea
Thursday- American Favorites: Slider’s, Oven fries, Ranch Dip, Fresh Veggies, and Chocolate Chip Cookies
Friday- Pasta Party: Meatballs, Marinara, fresh, hand-cranked Pasta, and a Fresh Salad
